The 2025 World Happiness Report is out and the U.S. just hit its lowest rank ever: #24.

One reason? We're becoming more isolated. More people are dining alone, feeling disconnected, and struggling to find purpose in their day-to-day.

As a strengths coach and engagement advocate, this hit hard. Because I’ve seen the difference it makes when people feel connected to what they’re best at and to each other.

When people know and use their strengths every day, they’re *six times* more likely to be engaged at work. And engagement is one of the strongest drivers of wellbeing.

What this report tells us is that now, more than ever, we need to create environments at work, in schools, in our communities where people can thrive.

That means:

- Managers who see and support their people
- Teams that lead with trust and curiosity
- Cultures that help people feel seen, heard, and valued

Everyone deserves a job they love - and a job that loves them back. And when that happens, it’s not just engagement scores that rise; it’s wellbeing, purpose, and joy.
